Below are steps on how to install one of our pendant lights. Please don't hesitate to contact us, if you will need more information or assistance. We will soon provide wiring diagrams and photos to better understand this installation.
Before you start, inspect the work area. Make sure the area is clear while doing this project. Make sure the existing lighting works by turning the switch to on and off positions.
Steps:
- Locate the service main panel and turn the power off by shifting the circuit breaker to OFF position. Use a voltage tester to make sure that there is no current flow through the circuit you're working on. Put the lighting switch to OFF position.
- Use a screwdriver and a wire cutter to remove the existing light fixture.
The black is the "hot" wire, where the current flows from the circuit breaker to the switch. The white is the "neutral" wire, where the current flows back to the main breaker panel. The green is the "ground" wire.
- Prep the lighting outlet wires by splicing a quarter of an inch on each one.
- Measure from top to the desired length of the suspension cord of the pendant light.
- Attach the provided mounting bar to the existing lighting outlet box.
- Slide the strain relief screw, the metal canopy and the strain relief through the suspension cord.
- Prep the suspension cord by splicing a quarter of an inch on each wire.
- Connect the wires.
Connect the "blue"+"black", "brown"+"white", and "yellow"+"green" wires using the three (3) wire connectors provided.
- Slide the metal ceiling canopy up to the lighting outlet box.
- Screw the strain relief.
- Mount the metal ceiling canopy to the mounting bar using the 2 screws provided.
- Go back to the main service panel and turn on the power by shifting the circuit breaker to ON position. Turn the lighting switch to ON position. ;)
